What's included in a company credit check report?

In addition to free public record information supplied direct from Companies House, our company credit check reports include:

Credit Risk Score

Credit risk is a measure of how likely it is that a business will become insolvent within 12 months. Scored out of 100, the credit risk score gives you a simple metric to understand any risks associated with an existing or potential business deal.

Credit Limit

A credit limit offers a simple guideline on how much credit to extend to a business at any one time. This ensures credit terms can be agreed with confidence and enables you to protect your own business against bad debt.

County Court Judgements

Judgements refer to a debt settled via court and have a substantial impact on the company's credit rating. A company credit check report details the total sum of debts owed, alongside dates and values of any paid or unpaid CCJs registered against a company within the last 6 years.

Financials

Company Check digitises figures from official Companies House documents to give you instant access to accounting records in an easy to read desktop format. Key financials such as Cash at bank, Net Worth, Assets and Liabilities are graphed and you can also download full year on year figures for use in internal systems, analysis, marketing and more.

FAQs

How is Company Credit Risk information calculated?

Risk Scores are calculated using a unique algorithm that analyses historic insolvency rates in order to generate key risk variables. These variables are essential in predicting the future behaviour of a company and adjusted based on business size and industry. The scoring algorithm is re-assessed quarterly to give you the most up to date and relevant rating possible.

How is the Credit Limit calculated?

Credit Limits are calculated by analysing a company's financial position in conjunction with the credit risk rating. Typically if a company has a positive rating and key financials such as Net Worth, Working Capital, Net Cash Flow Operations, Debtors & Cash and Turnover are all of high value, then a company will be assigned a reasonable credit limit. If these values are low (or negative) then the credit limit decision will reflect this.

What factors contribute to the score and limit of a company?

Our company credit check algorithm take into account the following factors:

Age of company
Company size
Financial performance
Age of financials
Comments from independent auditors
Director's history and performance
Group influence
Demographics
Mortgage data
Industry insolvency trends
Number of CCJ's
Value and frequency of CCJs
